Founded by public figure Kavita Khanna the Kavita and Vinod Khanna Foundation is dedicated to carry forward the remarkable legacy of social work created by her husband, the late Vinod Khanna, legendary actor and four-time Member of India’s Parliament.
In Punjab’s border regions, many young people grow up surrounded by stress, fractured homes, and the
shadow of addiction. Our Mental Health & Meditation programme helps them build inner strength, focus,
and emotional resilience — from the inside out.
We began with a government-mandated programme called Har Ghar Dhyan, through which we
conducted one-time meditation and mental health awareness sessions and reached 600+ schools in
Gurdaspur and Pathankot. The overwhelming response from students and teachers alike revealed a
deep need for ongoing support.
We are now working to introduce daily mindfulness and meditation sessions across schools, colleges,
and universities — because inner well-being must be nurtured consistently, not just touched once.
Punjab’s Director General of Police has stated that over 30% of households in Gurdaspur are
affected by drugs. In this environment, mental health is not a luxury — it’s a lifeline.

“Har Ghar Dhyan” is an hour-long session focused on mental health and meditation designed for school, college, and university students. The program, conducted by Kavita Khanna in collaboration with the Art of Living, equips students with the skills to enhance mental strength, boost efficiency, improve productivity—and all the while being happy.
