Skill Development Programme (Upcoming Initiative)

In the border districts of Punjab, unemployment is one of the most pressing challenges faced by youth.
With limited access to jobs or skill-based training, many young people turn to drugs, leading to a
destructive cycle of addiction and hopelessness.

The objective of this programme is to equip rural youth with practical, market-aligned skills that lead to employment or entrepreneurship —providing dignity, income, and a meaningful alternative to addiction.

Key Components (in development):

• Vocational courses (e.g., tailoring, electrician training, plumbing, beauty & wellness)
• Digital literacy and basic computer skills
• Soft skills training: communication, time management, financial literacy
• Placement support and micro-enterprise mentorship
• Partnerships with government skill schemes and private trainers

Impact Goal:

Launch skill development centres in high-risk clusters of Gurdaspur and Pathankot, and reach at least 100 youth in the first year.

What We Need

We are currently seeking:

• Funding partners to sponsor pilot phases
• Training agencies, CSR groups, and NGOs to collaborate on delivery
• Volunteers and professionals to support curriculum design and outreach
